My boss has been trying to hire a couple of EEs since the past couple of months but is not successful.....Ultimately he had to request me to find Indians graduating in the coming fall semester from the local university....
Also the poll shoule be structured as "Do you think American school system is not producing enough skilled workers with knowledge in STEM fields?"
'High tech jobs' and 'qualified workers' are all distractive terms for the larger malice in place: Americans taking for granted that jobs will be lined for them when they step out of college.
As a matter of fact Mr. Lou Dobbs is doing a big disservice to the American people by lying and not encounraging them to face the harsh truth that there is a lot of competition out there and please be prepared to face it.

Unpaid vacation is acceptable. Consultants working on hourly basis do not get paid when they do not work. As long as you come on top of prevailing wage rate and the annual salary quoted on the LCA at the end of the year, it does not matter. USCIS understands that you need a vacation too and can not work like a machine throughout the year.

As per my understanding here is how it is supposed to work
- One ONLY has to say whether he/she is Authorized to work for any employer in an unrestricted manner
- One ONLY has to say if he/she has a security clearance
- One ONLY has to say if he/she needs a visa sponsership now or in future
- Certain jobs may need that one has to be a US Citizen (not sure about this) - but there must be a valid reason as to why the job needs a US Citizen
Once an employment is offered, the employee has upto 72 hours from the day of joining to provide proof of work authorization and complete the i 9 form. The authorization must be original and the employer must verify this and take a copy and place it in the employee's folder.

I was on bench for 4 months in 2001. I have 2 times H1 transfer after that and visited India couple of times. I have regular pay stubs from 2002 onwards.
Can this create an issue while IO is working on my 485 application?
Is that time period listed on G-325a (Applicant's employment last five years)?

Folks,
I have to visit India in June and I need to revalidate my visa that expired in April. I received my H1B extention last week, so that's no problem.
Do I have to go to one of the 4 visa application centers (mumbai, delhi, calcutta, chennai) Or can I just drop by any of the other centers (drop centers I believe, there is one in Bangalore). Website is not clear about this. There is an alluding reference in FAQ that says :
Qn: I am a returning H1-B/L-1 visa applicant, how do I apply for a revalidation?
You need to schedule an appointment for a visa interview through our website www.vfs-usa.co.in or at a visa application centre nearest to your area of residence.
Has anyone done this before? How long is it going to take? Is it similar to the drop-box that existed before?

Nik, your picture look a little bit too bright to me but it's a nice try. Maybe I could try some selective dodge to bring out the eye and some other details without brightening up the whole scene.

Fine by me if they do offer some SLA. That's always been missing. Thats what I exactly pointed out in my comment. If they were to return my money back if they do not meet their SLA, no one will have issues. or just have PP for almost everything and give equal importance to people who either value time or money.

If USCIS is able to show the Congress that their expenses at the current level are not covered in full by the current fees, new fees will be justified even without improved service quality according to the law. The problem is that the public doesn't know how much of USCIS expenses are going uncovered by the current fees structure. Had they disclosed that piece of information we probably wouldn't have had this discussion in the first place.

Sorry for going a little off topic... I just was showing him some things related to Win32, like if I showed him MFC or COM.
Anywho, Win32 is a pretty cool API. One thing I'd recommend is Visual Studio's help files, or just creating a project in visual studio where the Win32 code is written in automatically, and then studying that code.
If you're not using Visual Studio, a highly recommend you use it as a compiler. There is a scaled down free version.

I have followed what many people suggested and applied for the H1B renewal.
Now I have to travel to India in the last week of November. I have a valid EAD and AP document. My H1B will be expiring and the renewal will be filed but I wont be receiving the approval.
I can use the AP and renter U.S but will that result in a cancellation of my H1B renewal?

In my case, i was told to wait for 90 days from the date EAD was filed. USCIS did not help me. So After more than 90 days. i called Senator office. Within a week or so they sent me a letter saying that they have contacted the TSC office and they will let me know when they hear from them.
Then in about another month, they sent me letter, which in turn had a reply from TSC office, saying that my application is pending due to background check (something like that).
So then i came to know what is wrong with my application. Mind it, i am talking about my EAD, 485 is still out of picture. Now every senator has an Immigration department and the person in that dpt follows-up with individual cases. Even TSC offices take some time to respond to Senator office's email. But atleast they have to respond back. If we call, they just give us a hard time.

I switched employent on December 2007. I didn't transfer H1-B so I am using my EAD to work for the new company. I didn't file for AC21 because I was worried about RFE or other type of complications.
My H1-b visa and I94 expired on May 2008. I am planning to visit my homecountry and come back on AP. As I understand all I need normally is AP+ passport+ I485 receipt. However, I also read some forum members recommending that we carry recent pay stubs and an employment letter from our company. I also read some that folks were asked if they were still working for the same company. My honest answer would be "no". I left my GC sponsoring firm (A) and joined company (B). So I wouln't have letters or pay stubs from company A. Would that be a problem at the POE? If I run into an IO that prefers to scrutinize, I might get into trouble. This really worries me. Again I switched jobs and never filed for AC21. Would I be at fault for not reporting the job change?

I did it a little different: first, I took the one pixel wide column marque tool and picked a vertical spot that I wanted to stretch; second, I used edit >> define pattern and used the marque tool and made it the length I wanted and filled it with my pattern edit >> fill and pick our pattern that ou just defined; third, duplicate layers and mess with color dodge, screen, multipy, color burn, and so on!
